I normally do not post travel deals here because, well, let’s face it, not everyone can afford to go on vacation at the moment.
But every so often I come across a travel deal that makes sense to pass along.
Plum District is offering you the opportunity to purchase $300 worth of credit to FamilyGetaway.com, for just $100. Now, as if that wasn’t a great deal, when you head over to the Family Getaway website and sign up for the email newsletter, you’ll get another $100 credit as well. So basically, you’ll end up with $400 towards a family vacation and you’ll only have spent $100.
So, what exactly is FamilyGetaway.com? Well, it’s one part TripAdvisor, one part Priceline. They’ve combed the Internet for the best deals on family-focused vacations in the United States as well as across the globe. It’s really pretty amazing. Everything is sold as a package, which means you know exactly what you’re getting for the money you’re spending.
Just to test it out, I peeked at a 4-star resort in Arizona for the 3rd weekend in October, checking in on a Friday and leaving on a Sunday (two adults, two kids). The price was $170/night! Free babysitting and kids clubs, spa credit, and the kids eat free. Um, that’s pretty unbeatable. And if we lived in Arizona, I’d book it and drive there!
For us, it would make more sense to book a package a little closer to home. But with deals like these, it would be hard to resist.
The other nice feature is the auction part of the site – you can bid on packages to get vacations even cheaper!! Woot!!
Go take a look at the site and let me know what you think. If you like what you see, be sure to stop by Plum District in the next 4 days and grab your $300 voucher for just $100.
