I love my husband.

A lot.

But he’s weak in several areas that I feel are necessary to really get to keep your man card.

For example, fixing things around the house. Not so much.

Checking the oil in the car? Again, he spends a lot of time looking confused.

So that has left it on me to either learn how to fix things or pay to have someone else do it. And  since I’m the author behind a blog called “Smart Mom Deals,” it’s a pretty safe bet I’m all about saving an almighty dollar.

This has meant many calls to my dad and a few moody weekends, but overall, it’s been okay. That is, until I broke my drill. Well, I didn’t really break it, it just stopped working. And yes, I checked the batteries.

I’m glad to see that Amazon has the same model available for a fraction of what I paid the first time. It’s just enough for small home projects like putting beds together, changing out cabinet hardware, and putting up new bookshelves in the bedroom.

Since it’s a “Deal of the Day,” I’m not banking on it being available tomorrow; excuse me while I go complete my order.

Heh. My husband learned how to be handy on our house. After many “extra” holes, spark-inducing wiring mix-ups, and painting arguments, he is now a very capable handyman! :) All it took were some tools and determination.

But now he’s hooked on tools and drills and saws and stuff. Can’t win ‘em all.

I’m not the man in the house, and neither is my husband. But I’ll leave the mistakes and stubbed hands to him. I’ll even serve him a smoothie when he’s done.
