So I am posting this deal because I’m really intrigued by this thing. So, there is a part of me that wants to know if any of you have tried it, and there’s another part of me that thinks, if this is truly as cool as it looks, this is a phenomenal deal!
The Peel Smart Remote is this little pear-shaped device that hooks up to your Wi-Fi … it acts as a television remote + a TV guide … all you do is tell the app where you live, and it automatically lets you know what’s on where. There an awesome video that describes it way better than I ever could, right here on the Peel website.
The app is available on any iOS device, as well as the Android market, so regardless of what type of phone you own, you can use this. And, in theory, if you have multiple devices in your home, you could use the app on all of them. Users on both the iTunes market and the Android market rate this very highly, and I find those users to be the most fickle.
Normally, the Peel Remote is $99, but Mamasource is running a special that allows you to purchase the remote for $49. They are currently marketing this as a gift for dad for Valentine’s Day, but I could see this also being usable to make sure your kids have very personalized television recommendations presented to them.
