When we had Sydnie 12 years ago, we tried to keep her out of everything. Every single cabinet was locked up tight, as was every drawer. Every corner in the house as padded.
The result was hours of fighting with her while she tried to manipulate the safety latches, eventually figuring out how to break in to them.
With Ella, we took a different approach. Rather than making everything off-limits, we chose instead to lock up only a few things – cleaning supplies and the drawers on a cabinet that could potentially tip over on her. Oh, and we put those safety things around the kitchen stove so she couldn’t reach up and burn her fingers. Other than that, she is allowed in every single cabinet in the house.
And guess what? She doesn’t even bother to try and get into the cabinets that are locked. In fact, if we accidentally leave on unlocked, she’ll take our hand and lead us to it and point.
Granted, I often have mixing spoons and plastic Tupperware all over the house, but I’m alright with that.
Regardless, we still needed to actually BUY the safety latches – and they were expensive! Even when buying them at Target. Not to mention the fact that we didn’t need all that came in the package, so we paid for stuff we didn’t actually need.
That’s what I like about this deal between Rhoost and Eco Baby Buys. I like that the packages of safety gear are smaller in size. Plus they’re on sale, which is always a bonus.
Choose from 4-packs of edge corner protectors or 8-packs of sling cabinet closures, each at 40% off. Meaning you can buy both sets for right around $20.
