Before I bought my iPad, I thought long and hard about a Kindle Fire. They’ve got nearly all the same features, you can access tons of video-on-demand, and it’s smaller than the iPad and presumably more portable.
Ultimately I ended up with an iPad, but I my neighbor chose a Kindle Fire and absolutely loves it. I can’t say that I blame her.
If you haven’t purchased a tablet yet, the Fire is a great buy. And it gives you absolutely everything you need for about $300 less than the entry-level iPad.
