I’m going to pre-warn you that this post is going to sound like I’m stereotyping kids a bit, but I can’t help it.

When I think of Lego’s, I think of boys. Mostly because the sets are often focused on spaceships, ninjas, and pirates. But that is about to change.

Lego has come out with new sets geared specifically toward girls—and they’re super awesome. I spied these at Target the other day, but they weren’t part of the toy clearance because the sets are so new. However, when I opened my email this morning, there was the Toys ‘R Us ad, letting me know that both these and the new Lego Ninja sets are on sale.

I’ve checked out the website and because they haven’t listed the actual price, it’s hard to tell how much you’ll be saving. But based on the prices at Amazon and Target, I’d say you’ll be saving a few bucks. Nothing major, but a little bit.

And while I know that it’s hard to think about spending money so soon after Christmas (thanks for bring that up Steph!!), this (and the Target toy clearance) might actually be a good opportunity for your kids to spend some of their holiday money on toys they want. Just a thought.

My daughter (and even my boys!) have been begging for these!

I hadn’t thought of it until you mentioned it, but Lego is more boy-focused. Thank goodness, because poor boys sometimes have very little choice in toys as they get older, aside from playing with silly superhero action figures.

I guess Lego is going after the Playmobil market here, huh? Smart move and this set shown is very appealling. Look out boys, the girls are going to elbow into your territory now!
