Kenmore Toaster for Less Than $20

True Story: two weeks ago, I put bread in the toaster and promptly walked out the door to put some recycling out for collection. L was watching Sesame Street, so I knew I had a few minutes before she’d miss me.

When I walked back in the kitchen less that 1 minute later, I saw smoke coming out of the toaster.

After kicking me off the safety committee, my husband told me to go buy a new toaster.

Having not purchased one in about a decade (yes, our other one lasted that long without any problems), I was shocked to see how expensive a nice toaster is!

So I came home from Target empty handed. Pretty much because I refuse to spend $50 on a two-slice toaster. But then today I saw this deal from Sears (why I never think to go there I will never know). A Kenmore toaster for less than $20. Score!

I love that it has a defrost feature and that the slots are big enough for bagels. I know, it sounds like I’ve been living in the Stone Age!

If you’re not in the market for a toaster, Sears has some great deals on other small appliances as well.

Yikes, a smoking toaster could be terrible, good for you for trashing that old one immediately and getting a new one!

Sears is always my first stop for small appliances, it seems they haven’t gotten the memo to run up their prices like some other stores do. You can usually get good quality for reasonable prices. I LOVE the defrost button on mine — I’m always keeping bread & buns & bagels in the freezer and it’s perfect for frozen toaster waffles, too.
