As we prepare for another kiddo in this house, we’ve been doing a major overhaul of our basement space.

Chest freezer for extra food? Check. Moving my office out so we can make a play area? Check. New floors? Check.

As I’ve been cleaning out and reorganizing, I’ve come across my sewing machine and lots of fabric, scrapbooking materials, and yarn.

To say I miss the time I used to have to be crafty would be a massive understatement. There’s something so soothing about crafting and letting your creative juices flow.

One day, I’ll turn my Etsy id into a real shop and actually get to sell some of my wares … hopefully. I would be a wonderfully happy gal if I could somehow spend part of my time writing and editing and the other half being crafty for profit. Seriously.

I’ll get there one day, I will.

In the meantime, I’ll just make it a hobby and cruise for deals on inexpensive crafting stuff.

Here’s two that might tickle the fancy of any other crafter out there … particularly with the holidays fast approaching.

Hancock Fabrics is offering 10% off your entire purchase through 10/31. What’s great about this is you can also use it on sale items so that’s like a double bonus. Just use coupon code HURRY10 at checkout to nab your savings. Remember, fall fleece is currently more than 60% off (this is great for kids blanket and pillow sets … remember, gifts!!).

Or, if you live near a JoAnn Fabric and Craft Store, head on in and take 70% off Halloween decor and fall decorations, 40% off Martha Stewart scrapbooking supplies, or 50% off any one regular-priced item with this coupon.

Love it! I am always looking for new fabrics — I like to craft seasonal pillows and curtains for my kids’ room. They love when I give their room a new look!
