Save 50% on EcoFleece Winterwear

Nothing says cozy like fleece. Seriously.

And I will be honest and upfront about my feelings here; they’re very mixed. I think fleece is great for outdoor walks and sled rides through the neighborhood, but as the Guide to Baby Clothes, I don’t like fleece for car rides. And here’s why: it’s not safe to have your baby buckled in a car seat with a bulky fleece outfit on.

Now, with that said, I will also mention that my daughter has plenty of fleece. Read more…

Cyber Week Sales at Babies and Toys ‘R Us Stores

Posted on Oct 24, 2011 by 2 Comments

Is it just me or does it really feel like everyone is pushing the holiday shopping season just a little too much?

Sure, I love being prepared just as much as the next guy. And I definitely love scoring a good deal. But “Pre-Black Friday” and “Cyber Sales” have been going on since July!

Maybe I just like to take my holidays slowly and enjoy them a little bit.

I also wonder how much of it has to do with the influx of shopping via tablet computers . . . anyway, now I’m off track. Read more…

Save an Additional 25% on Sale-Priced Levana Child Safety Monitors

When our first daughter was born, video monitors did not yet exist.

When our second daughter was born, they did, but we decided to go old school instead. The reality was, they were less expensive and I knew that if we purchased a video monitor, I would spend hours staring at it, just to be sure she was okay. So we opted to save my sanity and a little money.

On the other hand, I had lots of friends that spent big bucks on a video monitor. They liked them, but admitted that they came in handiest as their kids got older. Now that Ella is a bit older, and spends a signifiant amount of time fighting her naps, I can see where a video monitor might be beneficial. Read more…

Little Grips Toddler Utensils 50% Off

Ella started using utensils quite some time ago. However, even though she uses them, she doesn’t necessarily have great control over them, if you know what I mean.

She tries like crazy, but inevitably, food always ends up on the floor — which is why I need that Dyson I just talked about.

At any rate, I’m wondering about these Little Grips toddler utensils. When I first looked at them, I couldn’t figure out just how they worked. But then I watched the embedded YouTube videos at the Baby Half Off site and the lightbulb went on. Better late than never I suppose. Read more…

Got Pacis? Save 50% on Paci Buddies and Never Lose a Pacifier Again

Posted on Oct 13, 2011 by 12 Comments

Well, maybe not EVER, but rarely.

I don’t know about you all, but we’ve lost our share of pacifiers. We used to just keep buying gore, but then one day I found a load of them under the couch and vowed to never spend money on them again. If they get lost, they’re gone.

But earlier in the baby’s life, it would have been nice to have something bigger to attach the paci too. Yes, those tethers are really nice, but they aren’t the be all, end all. Frankly, I think those are just as easy to lose. Read more…

Cleaning Out the Baby Half Off Archives

Have you ever seen a deal at a flash sale site but not purchased it in time? This happens to me quite a bit. I’m a big believer in waiting a few minutes before I make a purchase — I talked about this over at Modern Home Modern Baby — to avoid spending money on stuff I’m not going to use, just because it’s a good deal.

But sometimes I’ll get distracted by something else and by the time I make up my mind, the deal has expired.

Usually I chalk this up to the universe’s way of telling me that I didn’t really need it anyway (kind of like when Panera is all sold out of their delicious mac ‘n cheese), but sometimes I’m really irked. Read more…

Save 50% on Super Cute Rain Gear for the Kiddos!

About a month ago, Ella received her first pair of rain boots. After discovering her love of splashing in puddles, we decided it was necessary to invest in a pair.

So she choose ladybug boots. And really, they are very cute. But now that I see this whole ladybug set from Kidorable, I wish I had gotten the whole kit-and-kaboodle. Read more…
