Hilton HHonors Members Receive Points for Donating to Relief Efforts

Posted on Oct 31, 2011 by 1 Comment

I recently traveled and stayed at a Hilton . . . I normally do not sign up for travel reward programs because, frankly, we just don’t travel that much. Especially with a baby.

But now that our oldest daughter has swim meets in different states, it seemed like a decent idea. And the girl that checked me in was totally great about explaining that, even with my first 3-night stay, I was going to be ridiculously close to earning a free night. As a mom with two kids, I’m all about a free night in a hotel. Read more…

This is actually one of my favorite things about No More Rack; you never know what’s coming up. It’s sort of like getting a surprise package in the mail, every. single. day.

At any rate, I’m drooling over this studded handbag, shown above. And at 77% off, it’s coming in under $20. Boo-ya!

Not only is this perfect for me, I’m picking one up for my teenage sister too. Read more…

Have a New Books-A-Million Opening in Your Neighborhood?

Chances are, you had a Borders store in your neck of the woods. I know we did, and boy do I miss it.

And while we do have lots of locally owned bookstores that I like to browse the shelves of, being in a large bookstore with big, comfy chairs, an endless selection, and a cafe is just a whole different experience.

I’m happy to say that our locations was one of a few that will be converted to a Books-A-Million location. And believe you me, I’m stalking that location for any sign of it opening. Read more…

Save More Than 50% on a One Year Subscription to Clean Eating Magazine

Posted on Oct 31, 2011 by No Comments

I know we go back and forth about whether magazines for moms are worth it; but I would argue that even if you never take advantage of any magazine deal I post, this one is well worth your time.

I have been a subscriber to Clean Eating magazine for several years now, and I continue to find endless inspiration among its pages — even from issues that are a few years old. I keep my entire collection not-so-neatly arranged in my kitchen, and I use them every week to make meal plans for my family. Read more…

Save 50% on EcoFleece Winterwear

Nothing says cozy like fleece. Seriously.

And I will be honest and upfront about my feelings here; they’re very mixed. I think fleece is great for outdoor walks and sled rides through the neighborhood, but as the About.com Guide to Baby Clothes, I don’t like fleece for car rides. And here’s why: it’s not safe to have your baby buckled in a car seat with a bulky fleece outfit on.

Now, with that said, I will also mention that my daughter has plenty of fleece. Read more…

Save Nearly 50% on Manhattan Toy Cuddlemats for Kids

Forget the kids . . . I want one of these!!

I’ve always been equally intrigued and repulsed by the idea of a bear-skin rug in the middle of a room. So these mats seem to be the perfect thing to satisfy my curiosity.

Measuring a generous 39.5″ x 10.5″ x 45″ deep, these appear to be snuggly soft and silky . . . perfect for tummy time or even a snuggly movie night with mom and dad. And that cute little head can serve as a perfect little pillow. Read more…

Save $10 on Your Purchase of $50 or More in the Big Lots Christmas Department

Please don’t hate me because I’ve mentioned the holiday twice already this week. But with snow in the forecast for tomorrow and the cold temperatures, I can’t help but start thinking about it.

Plus, while I usually feel really overwhelmed by every single calendar day that ticks by between October 31st and January 1st, I’m actually kind of looking forward to it this year.

Now, that’s not to say that my house will be decorated before Thanksgiving, because it won’t. But if I can buy a few decorations now and tuck them in a dark corner of the basement until after we devour the sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie, I might just do it. Read more…
